Can Facer Staff please fix the bug that is continuously making me lose my designs because the screen keeps freezing on the Saving stage?

I’ve had that happen to me before, it’s really frustrating! I’ve gotten to the point where I just automatically save it about every 5 minutes. That way if it does happen, I don’t lose very much. I would bet that @Facer_Official is having network issues on your side of the world, or at least somewhere between there and California U.S.A.

It is great suggestion mrantisocialguy said to frequently save your work. I do the same.
If it is happening all the time, you may be having some simple issues.
I see that you are running Windows 10 and Microsoft Edge browser. It doesn’t appear you have much open. What CPU do you have in your system and how much RAM? The more complicated the design, the more of each resource it uses. You can be causing the browser to crash if you don’t have enough system to handle the load you are giving it.

it seems like when I’ve heard of this happening the common denominator is too much math on too many layers. Is this happening on just one or two faces for you or all of them? I haven’t had this problem in many months, I don’t think there’s necessarily a system bug at present, but possibly it’s due to something going on in your project. Try saving a super simple face just as a test.

Thanks guys, but that face was quite simple, especially for me lol
It turns out that it was ONLY happening whenever I tried to add Weather Icons, even if I just selected the option without adding any images.
My Face has now been Published without them, but the problem still persists if I try to add them, so I’m not bothering with them for now.

good that you’ve zeroed in on the culprit. So stock weather icons too, or only uploading your own? I have not had any issues with weather icons which are in every premium face I make. But I rarely have uploaded my own. Maybe there is a problem with a corrupt file or wrong format for one of your icon images?

I have found that it is certain times of day, probably when loads of people are using creator.
Just now it was taking upwards of a minute to change tick mark designs between the default ones.
Some of the work is offloaded to facer server (a lot more so in the creator Windows app it seems), but this can cause much lag if half the community is creating at the same time.
Also, I have to wonder how much of their expediture goes into performance analasys and upgrade of their servers as the user base expands.

@kvansant Whenever I select Weather Icons, there are never any Stock images there for me nowadays, and the ones I use are ones that I have saved, working perfectly fine before. I even tried saving a Face earlier after tapping to add Weather Icons and not adding any Weather images at all, and it still froze on the saving screen. It’s all good anyway, I’ll just continue creating without any Weather Icons for now

Hmm. I just added a weather icon to a blank face and the stock icons were all there. Even looked like the pre v7 ones. I agree with @russellcresser that there are many suplicate icons there, but possibly due to similarity in terms such as few clouds/broken clouds.
Not sure this duplication of icons is new to V7/
I didn’t try and save because I wasn’t adding my own icons. I don’t have any.

One of the things that came up here a couple of times was a request for a Mist / Fog Icon. It looks to me like they have just Fudged the Issue as they are not sure how to use the Icons. I posted a topic with some basic Icons.

@icrltd4 That is very weird you do not get the Stock Weather Icons. Sounds like a bug round that Tag. Some strange file type has become associated with them. I wonder if it is worth putting a blank image in each space and saving that to try clear any other association.
Just makes it terribly hard work when stuff does not work properly.
