We really appreciate all the honest feedback and tickets you’ve been sharing. Hearing directly from the community helps the team understand where Creator can improve, so please keep it coming!
To be transparent, Creator isn’t currently supported on tablet. That said, this discussion thread has been super helpful in sparking internal conversations. We know tablets are a huge part of many designers’ workflows, and the team will continue discussing this area further.
If you’re using Creator on a tablet, we’d love to hear more from you. It would really help the team if you could share:
• What type of tablet you’re using (iPad, Android, etc.)
• Whether you use a stylus (Apple Pencil, S Pen, etc.)
• Your feedback: pain points, frustrations, and what you’d love to see improved in a tablet experience
SAMSUNG Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra with S Pen. I usually use chrome browser, but interestingly, i found Samsung internet browser more stable with the right click menu.
Things that do not work well on Tablet (unless you have a mouse), is the ability to move the watchface positiion when heavily zoomed in. Having visible scroll bars (or the ability to make scroll bars show/hide) for this purpose would help with this.
Other enhancements that would be nice but not limited to Tablet
Ability to export an image previously uploaded. You can see the existing image in the image viewer in layer properties, but not able to export/save the image. This would be useful where designers want to re-use an existing image from one of their designs, and save having to hunt around for the original image. If this feature could be available for all elements that support images, such as Watch hands, Icons, etc.
Ability for developers to save formula’s, which could be accessed in the Tag dialog or similar dialog, so they can be reused easily in other watch faces and layers just like we can access the Tags. The ability to Save/Edit personal formulas, assign a unique Tag name maybe with a fixed prefix e.g. “_” (so it can be easily used in layers, like existing tags. And reusble in all watchfaces (a personal repository)
e.g.
|Personal Tag | Formula | Definition | Sample output
|#_Dbz# | $#Db#<10?0#Db#:#Db#$ | WFF Leading Zero Hours. | 08
I use both an iPad Pro and an iPad mini (latest model). Facer works best in the native Safari browser.
The menu used to be easily accessible on iPads via the three dots, but with the new right-click menu this is no longer the case. A long press, which is the alternative to right-click on iPad, also selects the layer for moving it, so the menu cannot be accessed properly anymore.
I understand that as a company you may choose to focus on certain hardware, but not supporting tablets in 2026 seems like a misstep. A huge number of professionals in the creative and design industry work on tablets.
I think that Facer is a victim of their own success.
Considering that they were facing a WFF disaster and managed to deal with it I think that it was amazing that they survived.
I also think that from what I have read here that Facer will find work arounds for the tags we lost and enable the support for both Android and Apple tablets - baby steps…
@jivestaroso Have you tried Samsung browser? (I know…samsung on iPad…i didnt think this app would exist!) Its working very well for me on Samsung tablet. The press and hold shows right click and you can only move via the right click options. Essentially more stable than Chrome browser as i no longer see layers randomly disappear.
Still hoping they bring back the settings and lock icon though and restore drag and drop move.
Thank you very much. I tried using the browser, but unfortunately it doesn’t solve the problem because the right click menu still doesn’t appear. I think it may be related to the Apple browser engine that has to be used when developing or porting a browser for Apple devices. I hope Facer will restore this function for iPad users in the future. In any case, I really appreciate your suggestion and your effort to help.
I am using an iPad Pro w/ M5 chip as my only device for watch creation. The tablet experience has undergone some issues with the latest update. Fortunately, when utilizing a keyboard and mouse with my iPad those limitations are reduced. In fact, the right click menu change recently introduced is a feature I apppreciate. This does however, affect iPad users without those added peripherals. I understand that native tablet use wasnt fully supported but I would highly recommend it, as the iPad Pro is a very capable device which I’ve used to create over 500 watch faces on this platform. In any event, keep up the good work and please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
This is what I intensely dislike about Apple! It’s entrapment and a marketing ploy. However even more frustratingly their stuff usually works straight out of the box and Apple don’t want anyone messing with it. One exception is Facer’s possibility to add to Apple watches even though even this has been terribly hobbled.
You may have guessed im not an Apple fan!
