Newbie's First Facer Watch

Hi All, This is my first ever digital watch face. It’s a GMT but with a twist. Without much intro perhaps I’ll just open it up and see what people think. I call it GMZ Crossover for “Get My Zones.” Instead of the World Timers that typically displays 24 hours zones or GMT’s that usually do two, this format allows for customized zone selection that individuals want and with a clean design. I had fantastic and immeasurable help from the community and could not have created this without some very experienced help. Hope you all like it.

Hey Well done . Welcome Back . I don’t think I have seen that concept for time zones before . Pretty unique I would say the Cloud Scape suits the Jet Set Vibe . Did you mean the highlight of the battery orb to disappear when the Battery warning comes on . I see a conflict with the Temperatures in metric mode .

I like the design a lot. The main screen is clean, uncluttered and with easy to read info.
I do find the transparency on the hands a little distracting and the multiple hands on AOD.

Thank you very much. Yes I have not spent any time on AOD at all. I need to find some info on what to set for aod. Or how to set it. Any hints?

Does the rotation of the zones makes sense?

It’s a little counter intuitive. Times zones float around the outside of the circle during 6 am to 6 pm and then crossed over to the inside of the circle for the 6 pm to 6 am rotation,

Hopefully helps people track their relevant time zones.

Any recommendations on the hands? I just defaulted to them so no particular preference there.

I like the colour of the hands but maybe just up the opacity. Also I notice they have been shortened, which squished the centre points a bit. This face does definately suite the plainer shape of hand though, so good pick there.

Generally on an AOD you want as little clutter as possible as the more lit pixels the more battery drain. If it was my face then maybe basic hour and minute for current zone and a small ring between inner/outer zone hour markers.

How is the zone’s font size? Legible?

BTW, if anyone wants their version of zones, please let me know and I’ll see if I can create one. But obviously I still need to clean the AOD/DIM up.

Or suggestions on the background, let me know.

Plus, need help on “daylight savings”. Since each zone is a separate formula, I can certainly adjust it to allow for daylight savings difference but I’m not sure where to find such a function or formula or API. Thanks in advance.

I don’t have the PRO version of creator so I am not able to create a version that allows for user selection of zones. However, as mentioned, I could try to create a customized selection of time zones.

I think I’ve corrected the battery orb to stay there and changed the unit system to metric. Hope that works. And made the hands a little more opaque. Thanks for the notes all.

DST is automatically catered for by zone.

On the preview window, it has a switch between Imperial and Metric, that seems to impact my temperature numbers. Where should I leave it?

That would be great. I guess I’ll have to wait for the next time change and see if it works.

You use it to ensure that it all looks good for Americans as well as everyone else.
Same with 12/24h.

Ok I’ve worked on the DIM version. Please check it out. Let me know if I need more or less stuff.

I left out the blue background of the battery arc. Is that ok?

Yes . Well done . I think you have a theme for a second publication there . Dump the seconds hand in AOD it is a NOP there . Just thinking it might be a good Ide to include an Australian Zone there are a good few users there and are often not represented in Zones . I think CANBERRA abbreviation CAN they like a Tinny Down there .

Ok will add seconds hand. What is a NOP? Do I need seconds tick marks or not?

Will include Australia Zone. CAN.

Yes I think I need to do a dark version.
