I am already very engaged with the community but have recently found that some of the very core documentation is out of date.
For instance there is no documentation of exponents: 2**2=4, 2**3=8 in the general maths expressions last updated by Louis Cartier 2 years ago and some weather expressions, such as ‘Feels Like’ require exponent calculations.
I feel that more recent updates of the basic instructions would inspire more confidence for new users.
A discussion topic for updating the core tags and expressions would be welcome and also good for newcomers to see that the information was up to date, as well as the core programmatic interface on the watch.
Information about the future of Facer on WearOS 5 is not something I can currently comment on but I do read the bulletins and regularly reassure GW6 and below owners of.
It is understandable that negotiations are slow but maybe just a monthly “we are still working on resolving the issue but no progress has been made so far. We will continue to keep you updated”
News of no progress in your efforts is still news that your efforts are ongoing.
It is something that is of great concern to the community.
I understand that much must be kept back but anything that is freedom of information searchable (meeting between Facer C(x)O and Google (official) [Date] [Details undisclosed] or (meeting between Facer CEO and CTO to discuss options going forward) [Date] [Details redacted] so the community knows there are discussions.
These don’t need to be as and when, but now and then say “In the last 3 months these things have been discussed looking for a way forward. No solution has been found as yet but we are working towards one if it can be found.”
Facer needs to continue as the best platform to introduce watch face design to new people and the single best community among all the other platforms.
