VAR toggle works in preview, not on watch

Greetings, and thanks for the add. I have a Google Pixel 2 running wearOS 6.1. I’ve used facer.io to design a watch face which is mostly working. I have Pro status on facer, and I’m using a VAR_1 toggle which works correctly in preview mode, but not on my synced watch. I have searched the archives, but haven’t found an answer yet. Thanks!

The VAR functions are not currently compatible with watches running Watch Face Format (Wear OS 6)

I don’t think you will find a watch that has not been updated easily . A lot of us will be interested in what you are trying to make . VAR still works on my old OPPO but it is a Shit Piece of Kit .

Well that’s disappointing. Especially since the VAR capability was the main reason I upgraded to Pro. Is this a well known limitation? Is there some sort of workaround? Of the hundreds of faces out there that I can upload to my watch, are there none that can use a touch in an area of the screen to change opacities of elements? Thanks.

The only ones I know of are the ones that have been imported into Facer from Samsung’s Watch Face Studio. You would have to ask @russellcresser or one of the others that use it how much can be done that works here.

Sadly you are right . It has been like that some time so the discussions have become historical . Facer have published Newsletters on the subject and we have been talking about it for a while on here . Facer could flag it when you purchase Pro that many of the Pro Tags do not work any more . We used to buy it for a month and make loads of templates . WFS has some Interactive stuff but it is not like a Good Old VAR .

Sadly, I went for the discounted year  I will try to get a refund, its only been a few days. Wish me luck :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes . I think in this case you should get a refund . However it will take time . We see you have published no faces yet .

No, none published, not that good  Just started a couple of days ago…

Enjoy . I certainly would not have started as a Pro .

you’re prolly right, but I wanted the VAR_s :frowning: Live & learn

Even though the VAR functions do not work, the Theme colours and App launchers all do work. So you need to maybe try those and see if they are still worth playing around with Pro. If you do try the app launchers, and have a samsung watch, you may find that they launch Google apps, or do not work at all (e.g. Google weather is not compatible with Samsung). I hope that @Facer_Official fix the App launchers so that they launch the native apps for the Watch rather than Googles.

Since one can import files from WFS, even the pro just for themes and launchers is questionable.

I pay for Pro, and the only benefit to me is being able to post Promo Pics and Videos because all I do is AAB Imports. I checked out WatchMaker a few days ago. They support imports now, but I have to pay $59 (annually) just to install my own watch faces…LOL I deleted my account pretty quickly after finding that out.

I’d like to hear more about importing files from WWS. PIxel 2 watch. Thanks.

If nobody covers it, I will try to prepare a file and make a gif about how to import it to Facer in the evening. It has been quite long while since I tried it last time, I so far managed to avoid getting watch that runs wearOS.

That would be great if you would - I’m sure many would appreciate it

Have you had a look at WFS yet ? The more you know about the IDE the Better . It would be very helpful to see anything you have made on either platform to assess your skill level . I am not being Elitist here . I am a Hobbyist that is squeezing a tiny bit of Juice out of the Game . Sadly Samsung broke their forum so we have a couple of WFS Topics on this Facer Community that seem to have not been taken down .
.
BTW . It is well worth waiting for Peters Tutorial . He is one of the Masters .

Think you might have misinterpreted my admittedly ambiguous little (WFS) post. I wasn’t knocking WFS. I just meant to correct my previous post where I erroneously used ‘WWS’ But to answer your question, no, don’t know anything about WFS. I’m excited for Peter’s tutorial!
