With Wear OS by Google’s announcements from Google I/O 2025, we’re thrilled to let you in on some huge news: the full Facer experience is coming back - faster, smoother, and more powerful than ever, on Wear OS 6.

We’ve been working closely with Google to ensure the next generation of Wear OS unlocks everything you loved about Facer — and more.

:rocket: What’s Coming in Wear OS 6

:white_check_mark: Full Support for Facer Premium

Wear OS 6 brings in-app subscriptions — meaning Facer Premium will unlock unlimited access to our entire catalog of faces inside the Facer app.

:white_check_mark: Watch Face Push = Instant Syncing

No more detours! With Watch Face Push, you’ll be able to sync faces directly from the Facer app to your Wear OS watch, just like the original Facer experience — now built on the latest tech.

:white_check_mark: Thousands of Faces, Already Converted

We’ve converted thousands of watch faces into Google’s Watch Face Format, and we expect the majority of our remaining catalog to get converted as well in the coming months so you’ll see a massive, beautifully compatible catalog ready the day you get Wear OS 6!

:calling: How Will It Work?

With Wear OS 6 on your smartwatch, your Facer app will:

  • Show a full catalog of Facer faces (instead of the handful we have been showing - for devices that launched with Wear OS 5 - that link to downloads on Google Play)

  • Let you sync any face directly to your watch

  • Allow face purchases and subscriptions right inside the Facer app

No extra steps. Just pick, sync, and enjoy.

If you’re a current subscriber:

  • Your subscription will keep working just as it did on Wear OS 4 and earlier — no changes needed.

If you’re already on a Wear OS 5 device and can’t currently use your subscription:

:spiral_calendar: When Will Wear OS 6 Be Available?

The latest Wear OS platform release, Wear OS 6, is expected to get into the hands of consumers later this year on both new smartwatches with Wear OS 6, and existing smartwatches that will upgrade to Wear OS 6.

If I understand correctly what was announced, this is really great news. I think we have all been waiting for this announcement for a long time. However, I didn’t quite understand some things:

  1. Will our previous Watch Faces be able to load onto the new system as they are?
  2. If the answer to n°1 is no, will we have the possibility to convert the previous WFs ourselves so that they are compatible with the new system? In addition to those published I have a bunch of WF in draft mode
  3. Will WF Creator also change so that it can make WF compatible with the new system?

I think some further clarification on this matter would be appropriate.
