Welcome Our New Facer Creator Partners

Yes, I think there should at least be a reason why you don’t qualify. Then you know which direction to take. Not a statement saying you will be ignored. Yes, I see the humor in that statement. How do you even know if they got your information? From what I see they are taking on partners from outside of Facer. Probably those that are established on the Play Store.

Yeah I mean look, Facer wants to make money. If they think YOU can make THEM money, then YOU’LL have a better chance at making money.

Yeah . I have little objection to Guys coming in from outside . Giants like AMOLED a Real Coder that will make a serious difference . He will help Facer enormously in the Transition . However Those who have made a significant contribution to this community deserve at least a Read Receipt for their Applications to become a Partner . The invitation is on the New Facer Creator so they want us to Apply . The contribution of the Free makers on this forum has been second to none . Making it the best . Otherwise we just have the Bad Manners of FB Groups . We all understand it is about making Money but hopefully being Civil . I would like to say thanks to all the great friends I have Made on this Community and the chance for the Learning . But there comes a time when one must move on or one is Trapped .

Isn’t that the point of us Facer creators to try and get partner with Facer? If they get partners from outside of Facer, then what’s the point of us even apply? Sorry, none of this bs make no sense to me.

While we haven’t had any official word on it that I know of, I can only imagine they brought those individuals in to increase their number of WFF faces available since they announced Facer would be moving to it. I get that. I also agree we should be promoting from within. I’ve never seen a bunch of partners come in like this before so I can only assume that’s the case. So keep up the great work everyone and dont despair!

I know I talked to a partner on the side when I was trying to make partner to see what I could do to get better and that helped immensely. Don’t hesitate to hit us up, wait… I don’t want to volunteer other partners lol, so if you want to hit ME up, totally fine, I will help if/how I can.

Well said, Rator. That is the bottom line. I believe all has been discussed in this community many times. What do People want? - Show Your Style! / Design showcase - FACER Community

Enjoy what you are doing, follow TOS and community rules, and discern whether your work is able to be an asset to the business.

I draw everything from scratch and sometimes spend countless hours, days, even weeks on each face I make. I have followed all the advice given and them some and for some reason…well…I am really feeling like I have fallen through the cracks. Take a look at my stuff on Play Store and tell me otherwise. (I stopped making anything in Face like 2 years ago)

They still need awesome designs that are free. Have you looked at the top 100 free? OMG, A good majority of those designers need to be made Partner. I know I joined Facer for the free designs. So, free designs in my opinion are bringing in business for Facer. It’s really sad and I don’t understand it either why they promote from outside.

I’m a fan of your work, and your advice.

There are a lot of creative quality designers in the Facer free community for sure. As I already said, If Brazen isn’t the next one brought in I will be shocked and disappointed. There are some others too who are worthy, but one of the things to consider is just because there are a bunch of qualified job applicants that doesn’t mean there are necessarily jobs available. As Facer grows the partner program can expand, and has. As far as this particular round of expansion, yes it’s a shame that Facer community designers were not yet brought in, but as has already been explained in this thread, it is actually very easy to understand why they brought in the established Play Store designers this time at this particular moment . I don’t have inside information on this, it’s just obvious to me that this was to draw attention to Facer’s new presence in the new WFF market which had a 12 month head start with Facer on the outside. It’s a smart move and will likely lead to the continued growth which will allow Facer to bring in more from inside the Facer community.

Hi Manuel, I was lucky enough to have spoken with you once, and I realized that your motivation is indeed love. And that’s truly inspiring. Keep it up, and I’m here for you!

Thanks so much Paul! I appreciate your kind words. Your work is just amazing & the work of so many others and that is what inspires me. I have often been offered to be paid for custom work, but I turn the money down and do it anyway. I am a true amateur. For the love of it! Let’s keep in touch my friend!

Good, you should. I looked at your play work and Facer too, you only have like 30 designs. You also have a bunch of copies on your IG. I think your work is good, though not super varied, but I can tell youre a good designer. If you were “overlooked” it could be because you have a bunch of copies, or it could be that you don’t have a ton of work to review, or both. Facer wants partners who are going to be active so they can make money.

My two cents worth. If Facer wants to stay online for all of us to publish our faces and make money too, it needs to do what it needs to do to do that. If bringing in outside partners is that way, they must have done considerable research to see what would bring in that revenue. Businesses work that way, no questions asked. When I first discovered Facer, I thought, “Hey maybe I can make some money creating watch faces”. After a very small amount of time, I resigned to the fact that that wasn’t going to happen, I just don’t put enough time and effort into it. I’ve learned a lot about how to create simple watch faces by some of the greatest Facer face developers on here. I enjoy creating my watch faces and sharing them with others. What really makes me happy is when I get “Liked” and get comments on my watch faces. I know I only speak for myself, but I couldn’t less if I ever get invited to be a partner. I just love the idea that someone else loves my watch face designs.

Well thanks for your input, I honestly forgot about the “copies” that you mentioned on IG. Those in fact are just portfolio images showing my illustrator/photoshop abilities. However, in the event that Facer ever happened upon them, it’s safe to assume that they wouldn’t see that there are no links to the actual files for people to take and they’re simply to show my skills (also remnants from G+ days, and many partners here have the same skeletons in their closets too). It could be an oversight for sure. I must disagree with my work not being varied though as I don’t see a lot of designers doing anything beyond their “look” personally, but it’s all objective right? I’ll just slink back into the corner, be an independent maker on Google Play and “another platform” and I hope one day, I can have the validation I seek as being among the best at Facer. Maybe you’ll see me again.

I don’t think you’ve got to worry about your past replica projects being relevant, as you know that’s how many of us got started into making faces in the first place. Facer was well aware of my replica past before I was brought in. But none of those were ever on Facer and I had moved on to the B# brand by the time I had come to Facer. I think you’ve kind of had bad luck with timing, not many new partners were brought in over the last couple of years until this round of WFF makers, and previously some of the additions were shader specialists not really established watch face designers because Facer was trying to really promote and develop that new feature. But… It looks to me like the plan is to create a better pathway for the standout Facer community designers to get on board. I’m basing this on the inclusion of the application link in Creator. So don’t give up hope yet maybe.

Congratulations to the new Partners! I did notice that a few of them don’t appear to meet the requirements listed in the Facer guidelines, like sync counts or community activity. To avoid confusion and keep expectations clear, it might be helpful if Facer could review or update the published requirements.

What Facer says you must / should have

  1. Be an independent designer
You should be producing your own watch faces (not just copying others’ work), and you should be creating high-quality, innovative, and diverse faces.
  2. Sync count requirement
Your watch faces need to have at least 5,000 syncs in the past 30 days. “Syncs” means how many times users have synced/downloaded/installed your faces.
  3. Have a collection with banner
You need to have at least one collection of watch faces that showcases your designs, with a banner (following Facer’s quality guidelines).
  4. Be active / constructive in the Facer community
Engage with the forums, comment threads, etc. Being part of the community helps.
  5. Respect copyright & trademark rules / TOS
You must have no copyright infringement strikes, follow their terms of service, etc.
